The evaporator fan:
The evaporator fan of a vehicle’s air conditioning system is an essential component of the automobile’s air conditioning system. It is also sometimes called a « blower fan » or « heater fan. » The main role of this fan is to circulate air through the air conditioning evaporator, which is located inside the vehicle’s dashboard.
Here’s how the vehicle’s air conditioning system works with the evaporator fan:
The air conditioning compressor compresses the refrigerant, typically R134a refrigerant gas, to transform it into a high-pressure fluid.
This high-pressure fluid is directed to the evaporator, which is located inside the dashboard of the vehicle. The evaporator is a coil of tubes where the refrigerant rapidly expands, cooling it quickly.
The cabin air of the vehicle is drawn in by the evaporator fan and blown through the cooled evaporator. This causes moisture in the air to condense and cools the air, creating cold air.
The cooled air is then directed to the cabin air vents, where it lowers the temperature inside the car, creating a sense of coolness for the passengers.
The evaporator fan is responsible for circulating air through the evaporator so that the air is cooled and distributed into the vehicle’s cabin. It can be controlled by adjusting the fan speed to regulate the cooling power of the air conditioning. In the summer, when the heat is intense, the fan typically runs at a high speed to quickly cool the air, while in the winter, it can be used to circulate warm air generated by the vehicle’s heating system.
